Debt Collection From Jakov Anaf

The Požarevac District Headquarters requested the Administration of the Town of Belgrade to collect 122 groches and 7 pence from Jakov Anaf for some items he had bought from Miloš Mijatović. The Administration informed the District Headquarters that it failed to collect the debt amount because Anaf was not in Belgrade but was residing in Šabac.

Dimitrije Naumović Indebted and His Property Banned

The Commercial Court informed the Belgrade Town Court that the administrative official had not inventoried and placed a ban to the merchandise of the indebted Dimitrije Naumović when Moša Mevorah had stated that he would not accept to be a tutor for the debtor‘s property. The Court considered that the official should have disregarded the refusal of Mevorah and should have addressed the Court.

The request was denied.

Dimitrije Simić Accused Samujel Alkalaj Over Debt

Dimitrije Simić, a representative of Merkada Nisim Padro, requested the Administration of the Town of Belgrade to seize a passport from Samujel Alkalaj to prevent him from leaving Belgrade until he settled his debt. Simić asserted that Alkalaj, with no permanent residence address, was in Belgrade for a wedding. The Administration did not seize the passport from Alkalaj because Simić submitted no proof of the debt.

Deportation of Jews to Turkey

Correspondence of the Administration of the Town of Belgrade, the Dorćol Precinct and the Požarevac District Headquarters regarding the deportation of Jews who had settled down in Belgrade and Požarevac despite the ban on settlement of Jews from Turkey. Jews who were to be deported were: Josef Isak, Isak Farhi, Moša Altaras, Avram Kalota and Jusef Hason, residing in Belgrade, and Rufel Altaras in Požarevac.
