Prince Milan Obrenović Pardoned Aron Alkalaj

Aron Alkalaj appealed to the Ministry of the Interior that the Palilula Precinct sentenced him too harshly. He was accused to have stolen a coat in a tavern and accordingly sentenced to 10 days of imprisonment and 4 months of police surveillance. By a decree of the Prince Milan Obrenović, Alkalaj was pardoned.

Proposal a Number of Language Classes Be Reduced in the Jewish Schools

The Ministry of Education and Religion informed the Administration of the Town of Belgrade regarding the proposal a number of Chaldean and Jewish Spanish language classes be reduced in the Jewish elementary schools. The Ministry stated that children learned languages in the first half of the school day and other subjects in the second half of the school day. Thus, the children spent too much time studying language without any practical benefit on the expense of the practical knowledge. The Ministry considered that language classes needed to be reduced to two or three times a week.

Property Sale of Izrailo I. Eškinazi Over Debt Settlement

The Commercial Court ordered the sale of the real estate property of Izrailo I. Eškinazi, in order to settle his debt to Izrailo Ruso. The Administration inventoried his property but the wife of Eškinazi, Lenka, gave a statement that the inventoried household was her property. The Administration ordered her to submit a proof of ownership over the disputed items.
